Dr Iuliana (Julie) Kanya graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2012 (BSc Hons) and finished her medical training at the University of Dundee in 2014 (MBChB). She worked in Edinburgh for her Foundation Years, and returned to St Andrews to work as a Medical Demonstrator in 2016.
Her surgical training started in the Scottish Borders in 2017, and she got a run-through post in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Tayside the following year. She gained her Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2018 and worked in Inverness between 2019 and 2021 before returning to Tayside. She left her training post in 2023 and joined the University of Dundee as a Clinical Lecturer – she’s now balancing that and her GP training. She is passionate about medical education, having completed a PG Diploma in MedEd in 2021. She’s also interested in MSK and sports medicine.’

The practice has a dedicated Mental Health Triage Nurse working with the practice team offering patient appointments on a Tuesday each week.
