Pneumococcal Vaccinations

At present, pneumococcal vaccinations are not available at the Practice due to a national shortage of the vaccine.

Community Nurses

The district nurses provide care to housebound patients and work closely with multi agencies. They have the skills and experience to manage a variety of healthcare needs:

  • Complex health needs
  • Wound care
  • Management of continence
  • Healthcare support for patients with chronic conditions
  • Planning of care and rehabilitation with patients, their families/carers and support organisations
  • Assessing the needs of patients and carers
  • End of life care

The nurses can be contacted between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm on 01334 651 280 or 651 281.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse with a specialised qualification in community health. Their role is to offer support and encouragement to families through the early years from pregnancy and birth. They can offer help and advice to parents on the following:

  • Childs growth and development
  • Common childhood infections/skin problems
  • Behavioural difficulties – sleeping, eating, potty training, temper tantrums and teething

The health visitors also run baby clinics and child immunisation clinics. They can be contacted between 09:00 and 17:00 on 01334 651 276 or 651 277. If the health visitors are unavailable you can leave a message via their answering service and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
