MEDICINE WASTAGE

Wasted medicines cost NHS Fife £2.1 million last year which could be used to fund other health services in Fife.  If you think you are receiving medicine that you do not need/want, please complete a Medicine Waste Form and return it to the Practice.  Our Pharmacists will check and delete any medication you no longer require.

Thank you.

Repeat Prescriptions

If you are taking regular medication this may be on a repeat list – you can identify which items these are by looking at the tear off page attached to your last prescription. You can use one of the following methods to order your next supply:

  • Complete the tear-off page opposite your last prescription. This can be handed in or posted to the surgery
  • Order your repeat prescription online from this website. Follow the link at the top of this page to access the online system. New patients are required to complete a simple registration.
  • Order via our repeat prescription line on 01334 651206.  This is a voicemail system.

Once your prescription request has been issued you can collect it from the surgery or we can forward this to the Cupar pharmacy of your choice for dispensing.

Generally the doctor will give you 2 months supply of each medicine but some items will be prescribed in smaller quantities such as pain medicine.

Please note: Practice policy dictates that the ordering of repeat prescriptions for a 28 day supply can only be done 7 days in advance of them being required; for a 56 day supply this is 14 days in advance. Requests submitted too early will not be held and automatically processed and patients will be required to re-submit within the relative reorder deadlines.

However we realise that exceptional circumstances do arise, such as a patient going on holiday, a special arrangement can be made, by calling the surgery and discussing your request.

Please allow 2 working days from the time of receipt of your request at the surgery for the prescription to be issued; if you are ordering through a pharmacy this may take a little longer. Your prescription can also be collected from reception should you prefer this.
